TWO Spring Break Opportunities:
FEBRUARY 12, 2018 ONLY: Save $25 off individual camps! Or, save $75 when you enroll in both camps. Students who enroll in both camps may pack a sack lunch and stay at the theatre 12:00-1:00pm between camps. An all-day theatre experience for intermediate/advanced actors for only $273! Discount may not be combined with other offers. Multi-camp offer only applicable when both camps are registered in one payment for the same student by selecting the appropriate package at checkout. Experience Level: All levels welcome, including beginners with no experience
(Performance materials and scene partners will be assigned based on age and experience level, so that each student has a fun learning experience)
Description: This relaxed version of our “Great Comedy Challenge” camp is for all experience levels, including those with no theatre experience! Students will exercise their funny bone through improv games and comedic scenes and monologues that strengthen their confidence, stage presence, and performance skills. They then perform alongside our Great Comedy Challengers in the hilarious variety show on Friday, March 23*! This camp includes group games and performances to develop team work and communication skills as well as one-on-one and small groups with exercises tailored to actors’ experience levels. Beginner actors will learn the fundamentals of performing, intermediate students will build on their current skills, and advanced actors will be assigned material to challenge them in the art of comedy. Description: Think you’re the next Jimmy Fallon, Will Ferrell, Tina Fey, or Kristen Wiig? Here’s your chance to exercise your funny bone! Actors will spend a week studying and practicing the complex art forms of comedy, improv, sketch, and stand-up. The class will write, host, and perform their own variety show in the style of Saturday Night Live, to be presented on Friday, March 23*. Please note that this is a boot camp experience** for intermediate and advanced actors, so only enroll if you have experience, can fulfill obligations such as memorizing lines and rehearsing outside of class time, and you’re ready for a kick-butt comedy experience! You WILL work hard, but you also WILL laugh, WILL produce an hilarious comedy production, and WILL make awesome new friends!
*Students who successfully complete the camp will perform in our comedy variety show on Friday, March 23. Students will check-in at 6:45pm, and the show starts at 7:30pm.
